The Lime Rock Fire District performs emergency services within the Town of Lincoln and functions solely from the fire tax revenue collected. There are four separate fire districts in Lincoln.

The 2024 tax payment is due on 12/31/2024 and delinquent after 1/31/2025. You may submit partial payments on the real estate account only if your tax is over $100.00. Divide the tax by a third and make payments in November, December and submit final payment by January 31st, 2025.

Checks must be payable to Lime Rock Fire District, Inc in U.S. Dollars drawn on a U.S. Bank.

Interest accrues daily after January 31, 2025, at 18% per annum.

Any checks not honored by the bank will be charged a service fee of $30.00.

This bill is assumed to be correct if you do not appeal Real Estate or Tangible Property within 90 days. The 2024 Tax rate is $2.05 per thousand of assessed valuations.

ALL overdue and delinquent real estate accounts shall be subjected to tax sale by public auction on September 19th, 2025, at 10:00am in the Lincoln Town Hall, 100 Old River Rd, Lincoln, RI. If the balance of the delinquency is not paid by March 1, 2025, and received in this office, a $500.00 tax sale expense fee will be charged to the real estate account. It will require a certified check to release the delinquency.

Tangible assessments are based on Lincoln's information and may be split between the four (4) fire districts depending on the property location.

All tax bills are issued in November. Motor vehicle taxes have been phased out. In the event you move from the Lime Rock Fire District, you will not be excused from paying the tax or penalties because of your failure to receive the fire tax bill.

R.I. Gen. Laws &44-34-3(e)- Failure of the tax collector, to send, or by taxpayer to receive a bill, shall not excuse the non-payment of tax or affect if it's validity of any proceeding for the correction thereof.
